ELAQ Limited · Last updated 3 September 2026

Reflick looks at the screen you are already looking at and listens when you hold a key. That is a lot of trust, so this page says plainly what leaves your Mac, what stays on it, and what we never ask for.

The short version. Reflick sends a screenshot and what you said to an AI provider so it can answer, and it sends nothing when you are not asking it something. Your history, your corrections and anything you taught it stay on your Mac in files you can read and delete. We never request Full Disk Access, and Reflick does not read your Mail, Messages or Notes databases.

Who we are

Reflick is a product of ELAQ Limited ("we", "us"). For anything on this page, write to support@reflick.ai.

What leaves your Mac, and only when

Nothing is captured or transmitted in the background. A transfer happens only in direct response to you holding a shortcut, tapping a gesture, or typing a command.

WhatWhere it goesWhy
Your voiceDeepgramTurned into text while you speak. Streamed, not stored by us.
A screenshotOpenAIOnly for requests that need to see the screen. Not sent for questions that do not.
Your questionOpenAITo produce the answer.
The reply textCartesiaTurned into the voice you hear.

All of it travels through our own service at api.reflick.ai, which holds the provider keys so that no credentials ship inside the app. That service passes your request to the provider and returns the answer. It does not retain your screenshots or transcripts.

Screen contents

A screenshot is a picture of whatever is in front of you at that moment, which may include a document, an email, or a window belonging to someone else's software. Reflick captures the display your pointer is on, and it excludes its own windows. If something confidential is on screen when you ask a question, it is in that screenshot. Move it or close it first.

What stays on your Mac

These live in your Application Support folder and never leave the machine unless you export or send them yourself:

You can read all of it as plain Markdown from Settings → Privacy → Open the knowledge base, and erase all of it from the same screen. Erasing is immediate and permanent, and it does not require contacting us.

Permissions we ask for, and the ones we do not

PermissionWhat it is for
AccessibilityReading the names and positions of on-screen controls, and clicking or typing when you ask Reflick to do something.
Screen RecordingTaking the screenshot that a screen question needs.
MicrophoneHearing you while you hold the talk shortcut.
Full Disk AccessNever requested. Reflick has no access to your Mail, Messages, Notes or Photos databases.

All three are granted by you in System Settings and can be revoked there at any time. Revoking one disables the part of Reflick that needs it and nothing else.

Accounts, payment and credits

Reflick identifies your installation with a token stored in your Mac's Keychain. It is tied to a credit balance, not to a name: creating an account requires no email address and no password.

Payments are handled by our payment processors, Stripe and Revolut. Your card details are entered on their systems and are never seen by Reflick or by ELAQ Limited. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the credits it bought.

The waitlist on this website

Everything above is about the Reflick app. This section is about the form on reflick.ai itself, which is the one place this website asks you for anything.

The short version. If you type your email address into the waitlist form, we keep that address until we have sent you one email telling you Reflick is out. Then it is deleted. We do not sell it, share it, or add you to anything else.

What we storeWhy
Your email addressTo send you one message on launch day.
When you signed upSo the list has an order, and so we can delete it on schedule.
Where you came fromA single word: a campaign tag, or the site that linked you, never the full address of the page you came from. It tells us which announcements worked.
A one-way hash of your IP addressSalted and irreversible. It is never stored in a form we can read, and its only job is to stop one machine filling the list automatically. We cannot turn it back into your address.

Our legal basis is your consent, given by submitting the form. The form says what the email will be before you submit it, and this is the only thing we will ever use the address for. There is no newsletter.

Getting off the list takes one line to support@reflick.ai, or a reply to the launch email itself. We delete the row rather than marking it unsubscribed, and we do not ask why.

Retention. The list is deleted once the launch email has gone out. If Reflick has not shipped within twelve months of you signing up, we delete it then instead, because an address collected for an announcement that never came is an address we should not still be holding.

Who else sees it. Nobody today: the list sits in our own database and nothing reads it but us. When we come to send the launch email we will use an email provider to do it, and this page will name that provider before a single message goes out.

The website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party trackers. It asks the service for one number (how many people are waiting), and that request tells us nothing about you beyond the fact that a page was loaded.

Analytics

Reflick ships with no analytics SDK and sends no usage telemetry. There is an optional local diagnostics counter in Settings → Developer, off by default, which records counts and durations on your Mac only and has no network path.

Your rights

Because the data that identifies you is minimal and most of what Reflick knows is already on your own machine, you can exercise most rights without us: read it, export it, and delete it from Settings → Privacy. To delete your account and its credit balance, use Settings → Privacy → Delete account, or write to support@reflick.ai.

If you are in the UK or the EEA, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the applicable data protection law, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority.

Children

Reflick is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your Mac, we will say so on this page and date it. The date at the top is always the date of the current version.
